Boyd Williams Skills combined with efficiency are demonstrated by staffs Many skills were needed to keep Skyline running with commendable efficiency. Of the clerks, Mrs. Cleo Metzner, head of the secretaries, took care of the principal's office, while Mrs. Alice Gardner eased the vice principals' daily tasks. Mrs. Mary Fischer handled the recorders' office, while Mrs. Carolyn Adams took charge of the counselors' office. Miss Barbara Tabler, Mrs. Gen Quan, and the newly aquired Mrs. Helen Fernsten kept the attendance office in order. Mrs. Fern Brown stayed as treasurer, and Mrs. Lenore Tietjen alleviated Miss Ann Potter's extra nursing. Miss Helen Desort helped acquaint three new teachers in Skyline's faculty, Miss Nancy Farnsworth, Mr. Dennis Casey, and Mr. Aaron Parness. Also teaching in the physically handicapped program was Mrs. Mary Thompson. Human relations department representative, Mrs. Mildred Marcus, worked with Skyline. ROTC instructors Sgt Elliot Curits and Sgt Boyd Williams again led the Skyline program. School librarian Mrs. Lauretta Williams Cnot picturedj aided departments with film literature. Discussing the impact the deaf assembly had on many students are Mrs. Fern Brown, Mrs. Helen Desort, and Miss Ann Potter. Mrs. Mary Fischer, Mrs. Gen Quan, Mrs. Lenore Tietjen, Mrs. Helen Fernsten, and Mrs. Alice Gardner enjoy a few minutes for discussion before the busy life at school begins. Head of the College and Scholarship Club, Mrs. Juanita Thomas sponsored many informative visits to nearby colleges. Speakers from as far away as Hawaii and Maine were scheduled during the year to help students decide where they would further their education after high school. Remaining in charge ofthe lnter-Work Experience program, Miss Alta Bassett kept a watchful eye on the lWE's throughout the school. Participants learned many skills while giving instructors time to accomplish more professionalized tasks.
