Stage Band members, practicing one hour each morning before school, presented numerous jazz concerts throughout the year for local junior high and elementary schools. Their repertoire included exerpts from Cabaret Stage Band mem bers participated in the Winter Band Concert and various assemblies. Pep Band added spirited music to the 1973 football season. Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker Suite, performed by the philharmonic orchestra and advanced and intermediate dance classes, added holiday spirit to the Holiday Music Program. Both band and orchestra performed in a Statewide Music Festival and individual members ofthe instrumental department participated in a Solo and Ensemble Festival. Under the direction of Mr. Richard Adams the theatre orchestra highlighted the year by providing accompaniment for the spring musical South Pacific.

Creative endeavors express ideas 2 Expression Magazine-Having received more entrants than any other year, the Expression board found reviewing and evaluating an arduous task. However, through the perseverance of the board and the strength and restraint of their sponsor Mrs. Fa ricita Wyatt, all the deadlines were met. KazooMarching Band-Though the Glenn Miller Band they are not, the Kazoo Band, started by Allan Stephens, was created to promote school spirit. The huge fifteen foot float which was paraded at the Homecoming game was the highlight of the year. Recognizing the unique concept of the Kazooer's, Bill Fiset mentioned them in his Oakland Tribune column.
