California Scholarship Federation Sponsored by Mrs. lean Cosad, CSF contained students who were among the most academically talented in the state. Scholarship Club By touring college campuses, students ofthe Scholarship Club were able to receive an introduction to college life. The club was sponsored by Mrs. luanita Thomas. Bowling Club Bowling enthusiasts formed a new club which got off to a striking start. Sponsored by Mrs. Thelma Williams, club members were presented with team shirts. Trophies were awarded at the end of competition. Looking through catalogues in order to decide what college they will visit next are officers of the Scholarship Club Felicia Keys, Ivette Logan, Charlotte Butler, and loyce Harris. Ideas expressed creatively, artistically by clubs Art Club With its few members, the small group forming the Art Club did individual work for their own personal enjoyment. Sponsored by Mr. Albin Templeman, the members participated in the litter contest. Bible Club Members of the Bible Club centered their meetings around the teachings of the Bible. Sponsored by Mr. David Peterson, the members held meaningful discussions during each meeting. f iff Variety of organizations help stimulate interest s I ,,' ff 'if 'Vi' ,. l :xxx f wh ' ' fwfgy: V 1654 Math Club Math Club members planned an exploratory trip to the Lawrence Hall of Science. At their weekly meetings, they played various math games The club was sponsored by Mrs. Juanita Thomas. Public Address Crew Working weekends and evenings, as well as during the day, the Public Address Crew arranged for sound systems for plays, the film festival, assemblies and other school functions. The crew sponsored by Mr. William Rader also video taped many of the sports activities for various teams throughout the year. Distributive Education Club of America In order to learn the techniques of marketing and merchandizing, DECA went on numerous field trips. These students also participated in a program which gave them training at stores in Eastmont Mall. Aiding DECA members with their learning was Mrs. loan Coria.
