Soccer team finishes fourth Fourth in standing, the soccer team finished the Oakland Athletic League with three All-city team members. Selected as OAL All-city first team were three Titans, Don Craig, fullback, Ron Floriani, forward, and Dave Thorne, halfback. Second All-city team consisted of Cary Fraser, Leland Heiner, forwards, and Omar Suer, goalie. Coached by l A ggi Mr. Richard Ott, the team is in its third OAL season. Acting as sponsor for the third year was Mr. Leonard Yager, a gym teacher from Montera junior High School Dave Thorne sets up the ball to Don Craig for the third score against Castlemont in their last Oakland Athletic League Came. Coach Fritz Sparks was acquired as an assistant from Oakland High. In his first year at Skyline Coach Sparks has already produced some top East Bay athletes. Bob Watters attended the Athens Indoor track meet and went home with the first place trophy for the shot put event. He competed against athletes from all over the state. The 440 relay team is rated by the sports writers as one of the top in the East Bay. Last year Skyline won its tenth championship and this year the eleventh was easily taken. The course used for this year's practice was Lake Chabot Municipal Golf Course.
