' Lrg.- ...if With the championship at stake, Skyline's junior varsity beat the Oakland JV team 28-O. There was no score at halftime, but the offense scored 28 points while the stingy JV defense held Oakland scoreless in the second half. The Titan win was truly a team effort. After destroying all of their pre-season opponents, the junior varsity gridders powered their way to an excellent season which ended in a co-championship. In the Oakland Athletic League opener, the lV's shutout Tech, T4-0. The second game against Castlemont was tough, but the eager jV's pulled it out to win 21-24. Traveling to McClymonds, Skyline suffered a 22-24 upset by the Warriors. The final two games were at home, and with the championship in reach, the team fought its way to beat Fremont 36-6. Top left: Steve jones, Tod Darling, Larry Franklin, Dwayne Clay, and Tom Horvath put up a tough defense against the Wildcats.
