New psychology courses introduced at Skyline Pavlovfs dog, ink blots, and classical conditioning were' some ofthe terms used in psychology, a new class given in the history department. This was the first time psychology had been offered at Skyline. lt was the experimental year for both students and teachers who took or taught the course. A new book entitled Psychology was used. Mrs. Margaret Ward was the head of the department. Mr. john Rouse proves that history doesn't have to be taught in the conventional manner. New warm up suits were obtained for the girls gymnastic team for the first time. Any girl who was a member of one of the seven Girl's Athletic Association teams was able to buy a special red and white T-shirt. New planning in the boy's physical education department gave juniors and seniors the opportunity to choose the activity in which they would like to participate each quarter. Football and wrestling coach Tony Fardella acted as department head for the first part of the year while Mr. Paul Berger recovered from an illness. Coach George Powles, who retired last year, returned to coach the championship baseball team. Tom Banis returns ball with a forearm smash in his second period gym class.
