Junior varsity bests record Shutting out Piedmont and Tamalpais in pre- season, the junior varsity gridders were on their way to a successful season which ended with their best record ever. In their third pre-season game the J.V.'s dropped Napa by a score of 20-6. The JV's were led during the OAL season by a tenacious defense and an aggressive offense. ln the opening game, the offense led the JV's to an 18-16 win over Fremont, Their second game was against Tech. With a strong running game the J.V.'s beat Tech by the score of 22-8. In their next two games the J,V. defense put consecutive shutouts on Castlemont i2O-Ol and McClymonds l23-Ol. With their offense and defense doing well their next game was against rival Oakland. Going into this game the J.V.'s were 7-O, but mistakes and turnovers gave Oakland the championship and the win over Skyline, the final score 24-15. The loss had ended all hopes for an undefeated season. The JV's 4- 1 record gave them secondplace in league standings and a 7-1 including pre-season.
