After school programs attract students Governing the girls' gym activities, the Girls' Athletic Association cabinet coordinated the after school sports, dance and gymnastics program. GAA sponsored a project in which sweat shirts and pants were sold to raise money to purchase uniforms and extra equipment. Part of themoney went toward awards given at a banquet in June, arranged by GAA sponsor, Miss Helen Baker. Patches, medals and trophies were awarded on the basis of points received for various extra- curricular activities and outstanding performances in gym throughout the year. Also gathering points were members of the girls' gymnastics club. The club consisted largely of members of the gymnastics team but Mrs. Carmela DiGrazia opened the club to all gymnasts. Club members received GAA points by attending clinics, selling brownies, and participating in meets. Performing in the spring musical Fiddler on the Roof, the Dance Workshop was composed of girls from Miss Elyse Dukatz' dance classes as well as other girls and boys who were interested in performing with actors and singers in the collective effort of Fiddler on the Roof. The group, somewhat short on males, also participated with the music department in the Spring Concert. ABOVE: GAA cabinet members are Sue Vant Hof, Stacey Baba, Kathy Gammelgard and Linda Blueford.
