Music clubs work together in creating joyous sounds l l Members of the Glee Club are FRONT ROW: Kathy Crammer, Susan Tilson, Laura Baker, Sally Tilson, Sylvia Graham, Teresia Keyes, Tandy McGinty and Mrs. Joanne McKray ldirectorl. ROW 2: Valerie Carson, Sue Wood, Vicki Velasco, Nancy Godfrey, Doreen Schaefer, Each of the annual musical programs was a joint effort of Skyline's choir, Girls' Glee, Cleftdwellers and Small Ensemble: all under the direction of Mrs. Joanne McKray. Largest music group at Skyline, the choir performed for the Montclair Women's club and took part in a holiday program given at Breuner's in downtown Oakland. Girls' Glee went caroling at a number of convalescent homes throughout the holidays and sang for the annual spring concert. Small Ensemble gave many performances outside of school including a program for the Easter Seal Bazaar at Lake Merritt Hotel. Mainly concerned with publicity for Skyline musical events, Cleftdwellers, along with members of the music department, held fund raising activities to purchase recording equipment for the various programs. Small Ensemble members are FRONT ROW: Magda Buining, Debbie LaBarbera, Kris Wolthius, Debbie Stratton, Linda Zwang. Cadet corp places first Reserve Officers' Training Corp, now in its fifth year, regained its honor star from the sixth annual army district's Federal Inspection. Among many appearances, the drill team marched in the Christmas Parade in Saratoga in which it placed second of all drill teams in the Bay Area and placed first in drill teams of Oakland. Competition within Skyline's A,B, and C companies always added superb skill to its members. During a morning practice, the ROTC Battalion stands at attention in preparation for tha annual inspection. ABOVEz The Oakland School champion cadet rifle team and color guard include FRONT ROW: Norwood Square, Ed Feifert, and Peter Shyvers, ROW 2 Brad King, George Martin and Gregory Geddes.
