Spirit leaders cheer team to first win over Oakland l...,..,..K.,. During Skyline's victorious football season, there were laughter and tears behind the spirited cries of the members ofthe three cheer squads. The cheer leaders, song girls, and letter girls of 1971-72 led Skyline rooters in cheers which stimulated the Titans to a long-awaited win over Oakland, placing them second in the Oakland Athletic League. The 20 girls who made up the three cheer squads sponsored projects to raise money to pay for their new and imaginative uniforms. Their routines and yells raised enthusiastic and devoted spirit among appreciative fans at the rally preceeding the Homecoming game. Skyline's cheerleaders, song girls and letter girls will never be forgotten because of their bright smiles and strong school spirit.
