Science class studies frog Mr. Roger Brehmer Mr, Lawrence Edwards Mr. Herbert Jorritsma Mr. Clarence Stevenson New to the science department were Mrs. Thelma Williams and Dr. Lawrence Edwards. Mrs. Williams who taught for nine years at King Junior High came to Skyline to teach biology and para medical physiology courses. Dr. Edwards taught math and biology. Taking a break from their regular departments, Mrs. Charlotte Rich taught biology during third period, and Mr. Fred Noel taught biology, during lunch time to help Mr. Roger Brehmer with his biology classes during the day. Mr. Herbert Jorritsma is head of the science department. His colleagues not pictured are Mrs, Juliette Dunham, Mr. Fred Noel, Mrs. Charlotte Rich and Mrs. Thelma Williams. The girls gymnastics team finally acquired its own publicity with lettered tee-shirts. Striving to regain the Berg Trophy, symbol of athletic supremacy, the boys' physical education department pushed Skyline's athletes to peak performance. Blending youth with experience, the department had great success in relating to student problems. Department head Paul Berger will be hard pressed next year to find a capable replacement for the nationally known baseball coach, George Powles. who retired in June after nine years at Skyline.
