Books, field trips, movies broaden language classes MVS- Adele Biles MF- Ernest Kalm Mrs. Henrietta Marquez Mrs. Helen Middleton Field trips and French films served as methods towards more interesting classes and the expansion of curriculum. Due to donations from the Parent-Teachers- Association, the department was able to rent French films which helped to increase the awareness and understanding of the French culture. Field trips were planned throughout the entire year. The neccessity for new books was fulfilled. The Spanish classes received new Level l books. Mrs. Adele Biles was the new Language department head. Reporters attend special press conclave Dr. Marcus Foster, superintendent, called a special press conference September 15 to discuss the year's activity. Management, family care, and home safety were emphasized in the homemaking department with sewing and cooking a smaller role in the curriculum. Mrs. Kazuye Yoshimura, department head, broadened the scope of the department by starting classes in stitchery and needle arts. To accomodate students unable to include homemaking in their daily schedules, weekly classes were held after school. RIGHT: Mrs. Charlotte Rich and students Diane Brown, Kim Stinnett.
