Led by Jeff O'Donnell, Gary Hunter, Mitch Wainwright, and Nick Lenhart, the wrestling team finished the season with a 2-3 win-loss record in the Oakland Athletic League. OAL season opened with a match against McClymonds. The Titans dropped a close one losing 36-33. As the season continued, the grapplers lost the next two matches against Castlemont and Fremont. They surged back winning the last two matches from Technical High and arch rival Oakland. Skyline also had one of the finest heavyweight divisions in the OAL. The upperweights were led by Gary Hunter lheavyweightl, Jeff O'Donnell l194 lbsl, Mitch Wainwright i178 Ibsl. These three wrestlers dominated the Oal by going undefeated throughout the season. The three were invited to compete in the state finals at CalQState Hayward. Golfers take tenth crown in athletic league meets Returning from an outstanding season, SkyIine's golf team dominated Oakland Athletic League action and non-league play as well. Last year, Skyline won its ninth championship and this year the tenth was easily taken. The team practiced everyday at the Lake Chabot-municipal golf course at the end of Golf Links Road where Coach Larry Edwards was an asset to the team. Returning lettermen were Dave Galeria, Doug Murphy, Randy Rushing, Roger Armstrong, Sam Retelas, and Paul Victo Rino. Team members are FRONT: Doug Murphy, Randy Rushing, Mark Giovanetti, Roger Armstrong. BACK: Dave Galeria, Lex Poulos, Robert Arnett, William Arnett, and Michael Wallner.
