The first day at S. H. S. was very hectic. Ev- erything was so new and different. Of course we felt a little bit out of place being merely sophs, but we didn't let that bother us. Our class was well represented in everything that year-basket- ball, football, C. A. A. and dramatics. Why, we were in just about everything. Our class elected officers about the second week. Charlie New- man was chosen president, Robert Baker, vice- presidentg Pat Dore, secretary, and Sylvia Laney, treasurer. On the student council were Donald Hall and Calla Miner. We chose Mr. Doughty as class advisor. On September 30, the Iunior class welcomed us to S. H. S. with a dance. We all had a wonderful time. That first year was our getting-acquainted year, and we loved it. On September fourth, 1950, we again entered the halls of S. H. S. refreshed after summer va- cation and ready to take our place as nupperclass- men. Philip Steward was elected class presi- dent this year with Linwood Turcotte, vice presi- dent, Sylvia Laney, secretary, and ,lean Berry, treasurer. Our student council members were Douglas Carpenter, Bernard McGowan, and Pat Strawmyre. Our advisor was Mr. Webber who was a great help to us. It was our turn to put on the Sophomore Reception that year which we did with much success. Our greatest event that year was the junior Prom, which we called Cafe '5z, and which was a huge success. Linwood Turcotte and Doris Greenleaf reigned as king and queen over the Prom. Their attendants were lean Berry, Calla Miner, Donald Hall, and Bar- ney McGowan. Mr. Sandall, the new coach from B. U., car- ried us through an undefeated, untied season in football and also coached his team to a KVC crown in basketball. Many of the boys from our class played on these teams. On class night we girls donned our gowns and the boys their suits and marched in with the Seniors. On September 8, 1951, we once again mount- ed McLellan llill, thrilled at finally being Sen- iors ourselves. Philip Steward and Linwood Turcotte were reelected as president and vice-- president of the class. jean Berry was secretary SENIOR CLASS OFFICERS Secretary, Jean Berry, Treasurer, Syl via Laneyg Vice-president, Linwood Tur cotte, President, Philip Steward and Sylvia Laney, treasurer. Representing us on the student council were Donald Hall, Barney McGowan, Doris Greenleaf, and Charlie New- man. Class advisor was Mr. Cordon. The Senior girls chose Doris Greenleaf as our D. A. R. candidate. One of the main topics of conversation during February and March was the Washington trip. Not many of us went, but those who did had a swell time. Of course, there was the usual swap- ping of graduation pictures as well as a great amount of work done on the Lever. Carl Morse and Elizabeth Cowette were co-editors of the Lever, and many members of the Senior class served on the board. The school paper, Tepee Talk, with Carl Morse as editor was published regularly throughout the year. Under Coach Sandall, S. H. S. enjoyed their second undefeated, untied football season in a row. The girls' basketball team under Miss Ratte had a good season. They won the Tri-Angular League trophy. Then, finally came Iune, 1952 and the thrill of graduation. lt's all over now, but we not only have our diplomas and education, but also many priceless wonderful memories of friends and good times at S. fl.
