C O U R S E O F S T U D Y The Skidmore High School is accredited withf the state as offering thirty-three and three-fourths units. For a high school of approximately one-hundred students lexclu- sive of the seventh and eighth grades of junior highl our school offers an excellent and varied group of courses. ENGLISH The English department offers five units: English I, English II, American Literature, English Literature, and Speech. SOCIAL STUDIES Four units are offered in Social Studies: Citizenship, World History, American History, and American Problems. MATHEMATICS The department of Mathematics offers three units: A1- gebra I, Geometry, and one-half unit of Algebra II and one-half unit of Advanced Arithmetic. NATURAL SCIENCE General Science and Biology are the two courses offered in the field of Natural Science. LANGUAGES For a high school the size of this,it is rather unusual to find languages being offered. Here the students have an opportunity to study both first and second year Latin. PRACTICAL ARTS In the field of Practical Arts there are twelve units offered: Typing I, Typing II, Bookkeeping, General Busi- ness, Industrial Arts I, Industrial Arts II, Vocational Home Economics I, Vocational .Home Economics II, Related Home Economics Science, Related Home Economics Art, Gen- eral Agriculture I, General Agriculture II. FINE ARTS The Fine Arts department offers Art I, Art II, Funda- mentals of Music, Harmony,and a fourth unit each of Band, Glee Club, and Chorus. PHYSICAL EDUCATION Beth boys' and girls' Physical Education is taught, and one-half unit of Hygiene is given. I
