SKIDMORE GRADE TEACHERS 5 As the grade teachers in the Skidmore School have algggg had an important part in the lives of the high sch students, this page is devoted to them. . ,lu i i, Miss Elinor Crater, the fifth and sixth grade-teacher, has done most of her college work at the State Teachers College in Maryville. She taught Fine Arts I 3' high school during the l959-40 term and Fine Arts II during the 1940-41 term. Her art class kept on display on the bulletin board a Npieture of the weekn representing the best work done by a student during that week. Miss Crater also had charge of the Pop Squad activities in the high school this Year. Miss Hannah Lou Dennett, the first grade teacher, is the only member of the faculty who is a graduate of Skid- more High School. She received her B. S. degree from the Maryville State Teachers College and has taught here two years. Miss Bennett has served as an assistant leader of the Girl Scouts this year. She accompanied the Pep Squad and the girls' volley ball team on most of their trips. Miss Maud Linville is finishing her fortieth year as a teacher of the third and fourth grades in the Skidmore School system. She completed a business course at College Springs, Iowa, attended the Stanberry Normal, the Mary- ville Seminary, and the Maryville State Teachers College. Miss Maud, as she is known to all of the students, has endeared herself to the entire community as well as to the many students who have had the opportunity to be a member of her NHappy Workshop.n Miss Maxine McClurg, the second grade teacher, has com- pleted two years of work at the Maryville State Teachers College. She organized and became leader of the local Girl Scout troop this year. She iccompanied the Pop Squad on most of their out-of-town trips.

S T U E E N TA A S-S E M B LIY The Student Assembly of the Skidmore High School was .b Q organized at the beginning of the 1939-40 school year. At that time a constitutional committee composed of t o delegates from each of the four upper classes was chosen. This committee was composed of Ernest Wright and Joe Littler, seniorsg Kathryn Wright and Paul Fletchall, jun- iorsg Roger Lee Barrett and Monty Wilson, sophomoresg and Anna Lee Logan and Bob Lowrance, freshmen. Joe Littler was elected as chairman, and the group went about to form a constitution. The orpanization was called the Student Governing Assembly. The president, who is elected by the student body, and the class representatives,who are chosen by their respec- tive classes, were chosen in the spring of 1940 to serve during the following school year. Roger Lee Barrett was elected as president. The seniors-to-be chose 'Guila Fletchall and Kathryn Wright,the juniors-to-be chose Rog- er Lee Barrett and Honty Wilson, the sophomores-to-be chose Ralph Peter and Stanley Wbrl,and the freshmen-to-be chose Jack Jordan and Maurice Bartram. Of these members, Monty Wilson was selected as vice-president, Kathryn Wright as secretary, and Ralph Peter as treasurer. Miss Tillitt has served as sponsor. The Assembly has sponsored an all school party each Semester and several assembly programs.
