S, TIGER CHEERLEADERS The Stragermen were upset from their undefeated LK perch by the Spencer Yellowjackets. The abs- ence of Kenny Mikes and heavy fouls seriously hurt the chances of the Tigers in this contest. The Bengals fell 59-64 at the hands of Pine Grove as the Tornadoes avenged an earlier defeat at the hands ofthe Tigers. The contest was marred by excessive fouling and several players on both sides went out of the game on fouls. The Tigers handed Paden City a 54-45 defeat as the rivalry between the two teams waxed hot. Paden City up upagood fight but the Tigers were too much for them. LAY-UP SHOT The LK Championship was gained by the Cats when they defeated Tyler 62-23. This was the Tigers last game of the season and they ended with a winning note. TIGERS WIN SECTIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP LOSE TO NEWELL IN REGIONAL FINALS In the opening game of the Section 111, Class 'B' Tournament, the Tigers gained the semi-finals by defeating T-yler, 73-44. The Bengals battled Reader 74-35 in the semi-finals of the tourney. Mikes hit for 27 points as Coach Strager cleared the bench, The Cats edged out Hundred 57-50 in the finals of the tournment. Hundred gave them a scare as they led in the second and third quarters. In the Region l, Class 'B' Tournament, the Tigers rolled into the finals by trouncing West Lib- erty T5-35, The Orange and Black was defeated in the finals of the tourney by Newell, 73-60- Best Wishes RHODES DRUG STORE - Sistersville, W. In the first meeting with the newly formed Paden City team, the Tigers had an easy night to the tune ofh5-31. The Tigers were W ' K t s ' , 1 never threatened by the llirt, Countians as they rapidly in- creased their lead gained -in TIGER RESERVES the first quarter. Again the Tigers retained the county championshipby defeating Tyler 73-35, As the Tigers played their usual brand of ball, the match was decided in the early part of the game. The Tigers copped their7th conference win as they brought home a 65-50 decision over St. Marys. The Tigers had a tough battle throughout the whole game 4 as the old rivals pressed them from the starting minutes. The Bengals took their second defeat of the year from Parkersburg by the score of 65-33. The orange and black proved to be no match for the Big lieds in their new field house. Again the Tigers defeated Williamstown by the score 71-50. An easy match for the hard-drilled Stragermen, the Tigers again came through to hold their lead in the conference. TIGER FRESHMAN A field goal in the last 15 seconds spelled doom for the Tigers as they fell 46-47 to Class 'A' Magnolia. This was the Cats third loss of the season and their second tohlag- nolia. The Blue Devils fought hard for three quarters but could not hold the snarling Tigers down as the Cats defeated them 58-49. The game was costly if for Sistersville as they lost E fm A I Kenny Mikes early in the sec- ond period when he sprained his ankle. 155.29 lit' 'Wu-Q -J ,
