The Bengals fell to their second defeat after clashing with Fairview for the first time in years, The game was highlighted by long runs, the first by Hikes as he streaked off tackle for 82 yards and a 'IU The final Tiger score came when Fvans returned a punt 60 yards to paydirt Sistersville 13, Grantsville 27 Outweighed I5 pounds to the man, the Tigers threw a score into the '50 LK Champs from Grantsville, Calhoun scored twice before the Fvans to Fish pass put the hall on scoring position for the Tigers and Fvans went over. ln the opening game of the season the Tigers took a mild defeat from the veterans of court as the Alumni struggled to a 60-43 win. Bill Gregory was the high scorer for the winners and Kenny Vlikes led the losers. The Tigers sailed to a 60-37 win over Elizabeth in the first conference game of the year. The Tigers jumped to a quick lead in the first quarter and led throughout the game. In a.hard fought battle with Bavenswood, the Tigers again came through with a 64-56 victory. The lead moved back and forth between the two teams un- til the closing minutes when the Tigers slowly edged in front. Sistersville defeated New Matamoras for the first time in three years by a small margin of 40-42. The Tigers, led by Jack Fish, took an early two point lead which they increased steadily while the game progressed as they handed the Bulldogs their first defeat. In a fast moving game with Pine Grove turned into an upset of'73-Sl as the Tigers gained revenge. After suffering three defeats under the fast moving Pine Grove team last year, Sistersville rallied in the third quarter to turn the tide of the Tornadoes. Inavisit to Williamstown's new gym, the Tigers moved to an easy 74-50 Victory.
