Presldent Robert Forrester V1ce Pres1dent Marllyn Rexroad Secretary Kay Mered1th Treasurer Nancy Sw1sher The sophomore class graduated from Junlor H1gh School w1th a total of 46 mem bers Wh11e we have galned several new members several have moved away and the total now enrolled IS 48 Donnle Evans was on the vars1ty basketball team James Dunlap James Sole James Campbell and Wayne Howard were on the reserve team The follow1ng students have consxstently been on the Honor Roll Phylhs Carr Barbara Ferrell Joyce Cornell D1ane Hays Mary Jo Kyle Jeanette Lemeley Sue Gorrell Carroll Brewer Kay Meredlth Donna Jean Northcraft Marxlyn Rexroad Helen Sw1sher Nancy Sw1sher and Jan1ce Shurthffe Many others have made the hon orable mentlon 11st Wayne Howard and B111 Goodfellow made letters for vars1ty football team James Dunlap James Sole Ga.1l L1ght Donme Evans and M1ckey Sterns were members of the reserve team Marllyn Rexroad and Kay Mered1th were elected pr1ncesses of the Coronatxon Ball for the present term Band members were Jamce Shurthffe Nancy Sw1sher Helen Sw1sher Jack1e Sutton Mary Anne Watson Marlene R1chardson Sue Gorrell Donna Northcraft Sally Mledel Joyce Cornell Phyllls Carr Mary Jo Kyle Sara Hubacher Patty Jones Carroll Brewer Joe Wxlhams and James Campbell and Mary Jo Kyle was one of the band magorettes James Sole and Donnle Evans were on the vars1ty baseball team Robert Forrester and Robert Lehew were managers of the football team James Dunlap was manager of the baseball team Kay Meredlth was chosen to represent the class as cheerleader. sa' FRESHMAN CLASS HISTORY Our class wh1ch entered school th1s year was one of the largest classes w1th 65 hopefuls answerlng the openlng call It was d1ff1cult to accustom ourselves to the w ways but we were soon runnlng smoothly and gett1ng lnto the Sw1ng A large proport1on of our class has regularly been on the honor roll Th1s 15 a good s1gn smce It 1S necessary to have mostly h1gh grades to make the roll When members were chosen for the Thesp1an Club four were chosen from e whole school to replace those who graduated, three were freshmen We have a mem boys and g1rls are Jolnlng the H1 Y and the Trl H1 Y Our class presldent 15 Jean Hays the treasurer Beverly Jo Tuel the secre tary Mary Hlckman and our chapel representatlve 15 Edward Faddoul Class ad vlsors are Mrs Guyton Mr Garrlson and Mr Hewltt As the t1me rolled around for the Freshmen chapel we put on a comedy panto 1ne called The Llght Went Out As for the athlet1c standmg of our class Kenny Mlkes made startlng lme up on the football team He was also a member of the Tlger Basketball team The Boys Freshman team won e1ght out of the twelve games that they played to say nothlng of the g1rls who also had a very good team As to scholastlc records Jean Hays has been one of the h1ghest ratmg students on each roll Some twenty of the boys are enrolled 1n the Woodworkmg I Class, and some fme projects have been produced by them Yum' Yum' You can see Coach Garr1son smfflng the a1r when the Home Ec I gxr s get under way smells l1ke mom's cookm Our two cand1dates for the campus queen th1s year are Beverly Jo Tuel and Rosemary T1ppens A N ff I Y Q I A n Q , 5, Nl .
