Siskiyou County Historical Society This picture was taken on Broadway Street in Yreka, the exact date unknown. These wagons appear to be empties waiting to turn in to the freight station of the Yreka Western Railroad which stood near the iunction of Main and Broadway. Their loads will be destined for Scott Valley towns or points down the Klamath River. On the opposite page are two scenes in Scott Valley which probably date back to 1914. One is the old steam threshing machine which was com- mon at that time and the other is one of the original horseless carriages . Many such pictures are on file at the Siskiyou County Mu se u m at Yreka and the Fort Jones Museum. Everyone is invited to come in to see them. y xviii.
