Coached by Morris Shep- herd and Len Fitzgerald, the l.V.'s opened the season by thumping Novato and con- tinued their winning ways until meeting Vallejo when they were held for a 13-13 tie. But the junior Pirates bounced right back with strong victor- ies over Tam, Montgomery and Napa. They concluded their season with a l2-l2 tie with San Ra- fael, giving them a final record of five wins, no losses and two ties. 4-op lohn Giesea Captain Albert Lavin Coach C BASKETBALL Lack of height and experience plagued a rather unsuccessful but hard-playing C basketball team, coached by Mr. Albert Cappy Lavin. Though the C's were never victorious, they gained experience which will be valuable for playing in future years. The C's lost many of their games by small margins often leading throughout most of a game only to be defeated' in the final minutes. Pine team work was displayed by the starting team: lohn Giesea, Steve Bennett, Brad Busch, Don Hopper and Harry Sullivan.
