CLASS HISTORY On August 29, 1955, sixteen scared green freshmen entered the doors of Sioux County High School to begin their inevitable climb upward to their now mighty reign of seniors. Darold Abel, Lloyd Adams, Paul Atchison, Jeanne Bourret, Kay Bowling, Kay Broderick, Claire Coffee, Lloyd Dunn, Nancy Grimm, Mavis Hall, Phyllis Mas- ters, Jack Richard, Sharon Schaefer, Kittie Sykora, Joy Tipton, Julie Zimmerman, and Tamera Zimmerman became full-fledged freshmen after much shoe shining, fancy dressing, and bowing to the seniors. Kay Bowling left the second six weeks of school. The faculty during our freshman year was Mr. Jesser, Superintendent, Mr. Brown, Princi- pal, Mr. Lundy, Mrs. Bish, Mrs. Titus, and Miss Peterson. LaVerne Hanley joined us in our sophomore year and Lloyd Adams left. The faculty remained the same except that Mr. Palmer replaced Mr. Jesser. Mr. Brown became superintendent and Mr. Palmer was our principal. Our junior year started off with a bang. We ordered our class rings, and made big plans for the Banquet and Prom which we, of course, thought was the best in the history of the school. The theme was Hawaiian Sunset . We presented our class play, No Bride for the Groom , in November. Carolyn Haworth joined us this year and Mr. Bloom and Mrs. Stark joined the faculty replacing Mrs. Titus and Miss Peterson. In our senior year Nancy Grimm, Jack Richard, Joy Tipton, and Tamera Zimmerman left us. We gained one new classmate, Phyllis Wasserburger. Mrs. Hall replaced Mr. Palmer for the only change on the faculty. We had our class play, Saved by the Belle ,on November 14. As this yearbook goes to press we look forward to the Prom, Sneak, Baccalaureate, and finally the day we have all been waiting for, Commencement.
