In the fall the panel attended the Fall chosen one of the top four speakers Dec ember 11 WNAX came to Sioux Center to reoord a half hour program of the aud lence and panel This recording was broadcast on February 19 Aprll 16 the members returned to Sioux City to attend the Spring Workshop SPEECHES This year the American Government Class again participated in the Te Paske Contest for which each Senior had to write a speech on the Constitution of the Umt ed States The five boys Whose speeches were chos en from the class were Arnie Ver Hoef Roger Oliver John Cleverlnga Gerald Sandbulte and M1lt0H Vander Berg ner and received S25 J ohn was runner up and received S15 Gerald was third place winner and lus reward was S10 There were only three girls speeches chosen from the class The girls whose speeches were selected were Betty Jane Plantage Patsy Roelofs and Mary Van Steenwyk The winning speech was glv en by Patsy for which she received S10 The winners of this contest received their money at Commencement Exercises. ll ' 0 ' I Workshop in Sioux City.
