The tlme has come for the class of 51 to revlew past experxences and cherlshed memor les of our school days The fxrst s1x years passed quxckly, and then came the day when we cllmbed the staxrs to Jumor Semor Hxgh School In our fxrst year of .Tumor H1gh School, Mr Robert Fisher was our homeroom adv1ser We elected class offzcers whxch was a new ex perxence for all of us They were Earl Wenr1ch Presmdent Donald Schroeder, V1ce Presldent and Jean Ruoss, Secretary We began our exghth grade term by electmg class offlcers They were Rlchard Bar nett, President Donald Schroeder Vice President, and Kathryn Schlapplch, Secretary Our adv1ser for thls year was Mr Norman C Hopp We, also, elected h1m as our Treasurer Our flrst soc1a1 event was a doggle roast at Egleman s Park on October 4 1946 Near the end of the term on May 9 1947, we had another doggxe roast We then elected of flcers for our commg Freshman year They were John Wenrxch, Presldent Rlchard Bar nett, Vxce President Kathryn Schlapplch, Secretary and Patr1c1aSpatz, Treasurer In our Freshman year, Mr Hopp was our faculty adv1ser We began the term by hav mg a doggle roast on September 19 1947 Our next socxal event was a movle, Phantom of the Opera , on March 9 1948 Thls year we selected our class colors, class flower an class motto They are Class colors, Maroon and Steel Class Flower, Gardema Class Motto, Succeed we must Succeed we w1l1 The class presented two one act plays, A mencement Act1v1t1es whlch were held May 26 1948 The officers for our Sophomore year were the same as the prev1ous year wxth Mr Hopp as our adviser As Sophs we began the year w1th a movle, Hat s Off' , whlch was presented on September 22 1948 During the year we had two doggle roasts We, also, purchased class hats We began our Iumor year by electing offxcers andthey were Rxchard McCauley, Presx dent John Wenrich, Vxce President Kathryn Schlapp1ch, Secretary, and Mr Hopp Treas urer and Advlser We began to work on our .Tumor class play, Smg For Your Supper whlch was presented on November 3 1949 It was a great success Durmg the year we had two doggle roasts and we went to see the Ice Capades We, also, sponsored a dance, Sham rock Shuffle , on March 17 1950 As .Tumors we selected our class rmgs Our Jlmlor year drew to a close and we began lookmg forward to our Semor year The offlcers for our Semor year were John Wenrxch, Presldent Evelyn Greath Vlce Presldent Kathryn Schlapplch, Secretary and Mr Hopp, Treasurer and Advlser We began our Semor year by workmg on our class play, A Llttle Honey , whlch we presented on November 17 1950 Throughout the year we sold greetmg cards, sponsored many cake and donut sales Our other soclal events were A movle, Margle , presented on September 8 1950, a doggle roast, and we, also, attended the Ice Follxes Our last soclal event was our semi formal dance held on May 5 1951 Durlng the year we spent a great amount of txme workmg on our 51 Imago We, also, changed our class flower from the Gardema to the Whlte Carnatlon Our wonderful Semor year was drawmg to a close and, at last, came our graduatlon SXEFCISBS whxch wxll be remembered by everyone Our Class Nlght Exerclses were held May 15 1951 Baccalaureate Servlces were held 1n the St John s Evangehcal and Reformed Church on May 29, 1951 Our Commencement Exercxses were held on May 22 1951 2 , , . . . - , . :- . , .
