FOREWORD ln a friendly happy community located in the heart of the Piedmont near the foothills of the Blue Ridge nestles a center of learning the Public Schools of Simp sonville Long ago it was established by a band of in terested citizens who longed for their children to boast of better educational advantages than they had enJoyed Soon the future of this endeavor was secure and the united efforts of those early pioneers were richly re warded yielding into this day choice results We proudly hail our Alma Mater as foremost along many lines the first in our county to offer the eleventh grade the first to have a music school and a building exclusively for that purpose the first to win state champ ionships in athletics expression debating music and Today we as heirs of our dear Alma Mater was bequeathed to us and boast proudly of our 812 happy healthy students of our 30 co operative interested faculty members of our national and local clubs of our inspiring thrilling band and of all the other phases of a satisfying school life We the Le Souvenir staff of 1953 present to you our friends this legend of our year together 'At first the pages of this bo k Are blank and purely fair But Time soon writeth memories And painteth pictures there 7 l , .
