MARTIN Alexandria, La. For his wonderful drawing and time he spent on the 1961 Bronco title page and staff page, we, the staff of the 1961 Bronco, would like to take this method of thanking Mr. Johnny Keglon for his work. Johnny Keglon We want to congratulate the class of 1961. You now have finished what is to you the greatest accomplishment of your life. Still you know and feel that life is just opening up for you. You have many decisions yet to make in life. Shall I begin working now, or shall I continue my education0 If I continue, to which college shall I go? What shall I choose as my life's occupation? Whom shall I choose as my life's companion? We sincerely hope that you have chosen or will choose to make CHRIST your main partner and His CHURCH a central pan of your interest in life. Rev. E. Earl Carver Our Beloved School Friends: Grace and peace be upon each of you in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Many of you will go out into this complex world of ours this year to make places for yourselves. For this reason may we come into your hearts for a few questions. I would like to ask: 1. How many of you that are Christians read the Bible only on special occa- sions? 2. How many of you as Christians set aside a certain amount of time each day or week for reading religious literature? 3. Do you regard the Bible as a book only for children; do you think that as adults you have outgrown it? 4. Do you view the Bible as an Antique Book which has no message to our modern age? 5. Do we display the iron will and determination necessary to learn the Christian Faith as demanded of us in this world we live in? These are key questions, striking at the very heart of our religious faith and practices. Upon your complete answers to these questions hinges the outcome of the world to come. In His dear name, SIMPSON BAPTIST CHURCH RED WHITE GEORGE JAMES This sign has become a familiar landmark along the Simpson- Zimmerman Highway. With the cooperation of our friends and neighbors, a new crop of pine trees has been established on the lands of the J. A. Bent- ley Lumber Company in just three brief years. This crop will be managed according to multiple-use prin- ciples. This means that in addition to growing a crop of timber, we are also interested in growing a crop of game birds and ani- mals for our friends and neighbors to hunt. We are encouraging the grazing of cattle to build a healthy cattle economy, and rec- reational uses are not being overlooked. The community lake at Flatwoods was the first step in this direction. We wish to en- courage the education of our youth in a pine tree economy through school forests like the one at Simpson High School. Yes, a new day is dawning on this section of Louisiana - one which we believe will bring prosperity and more abundant living. T. L. JAMES COMPANY, INC. FORESTRY DIVISION Ruston, Louisiana CLASS OFFICERS SENIORS President Arlon Jackson Vice-President Roland Smith Secretary-Treasurer Jessie Warwick Reporter Freddie Owens JUNIORS President Glenn Cooley Vice-President Mike Pigott Secretary-Treasurer Lunette Boswell Reporter Jesse McWilliams As we leave S.H.S. and head for the unknown of the years hereafter, the senior class of 1961 would like to thank the faculty and students of Simpson High School for the memories, foundation, and friends. As we must go, we would like to give the school our fondest farewell for these things. Our motto: We have endured the past, and will conquer the future.” TAYLOR PUBLISHING COMPANY ► Mc-'d •
