FRANKYE PARKER ‘DecUcaU t To our helpful and understanding teacher who has rendered every service possible to uphold the spirit of Simpson High School; who has worked without ceasing for our ed- ucational improvement; who has taught us willingly, faithfully, and with fullestcapac- ity, we, the Senior Class of 1960, proudly dedicate our annual, the Bronco , to our own Mr. E. E. Parker. Mr. Parker has served the Vernon Parish School system for 35 years, 26 of which he was principal of the following schools: Simp- son, Leesville, Hornbeck, Evans, and then Simpson again. He has been a classroom teacher in the following schools:Hornbeck High, Fal High, Slagle High, and,at the pre- sent time is teaching Math and Chemistry in Simpson High School. We, the Senior Class of 1960 pay tribute to the memory of one of our classmates who passed away June 10, 1957. Our hearts are saddened when we realize that his place is now empty. j s4ucUt vU c i ??tci6cc cutcC This school yearbook reveals much more than a pictorial record of school activi- ties. It records school progress and the deep meaning that school associations and friend- ships have in the lives of our young people. This yearbook shows an excellent record of performance with a balance of class- room and recreational activities. Let us think of these accomplishments as steps on our way to the highest ideals in our democratic society, where we are privileged to work and play together. May we all realize that no organization equals a purposeful school community in its promise for better things to come. My best wishes to each student represented in this book and to each person having a part in its publication. Sincerely, Curtis Bradshaw, Superintendent Vernon Parish Schools SEATED, left to right: N. In a measure, the pictorial and literary record contained in this annual is representative of the splendid efforts and progress made by the class of 1960. Their outstanding attitude toward school and school work has made my first year as principal of Simpson High School a most enjoyable one. May they all have a long and successful life. The to- getherness you have felt over the years will soon be over. You will go your separate ways into varied and different vocations. We hope that you have found a faith in One who is able to help you face the sorrows as well as the joys of the life ahead of you; a faith to help you make right decisions in every problem that will confront you. The surest way to success is to pattern your life after the One who has said, I am the Way, the Truth and the Life.
