CLASS PROPHECY It just doesn't seem possible that it was ten years ago today that our class graduated from Simon Kenton. Since I had two weeks vacation, I thought I would look up those classmatesl could lind. I went to the airport to start my trip by air, The pilot and co-pilot came in and they were . . . yes you guessed it . . . GERALDINE MULLINS and DONALD BRINKLEY. It seems that both their high school dreams came true. We landed at Hollywood and because of bad weather we were grounded for an indefinite period of time, so we decided to go see the most talked about stage show of the season. We discovered that the star was IOAN DEVAN with DON FINNELL playing opposite her, The producer was CLIFFORD FISK. We were talking to Clifford after the show and he told us that DORA KIDWELL and IOAN KRAMER were to star in his next production. Afterwards we went on a tour of the city. We noticed a lot of excitement and discovered the cause to be a parade of bathing beauties and you have no idea who Miss America was . . . none other than FLORA CRAWFORD. With the parade came some clowns which we recognized as THOMAS CAIN and OSCAR BREWER, The next day we started off again and when we landed again ELLEN DUMBACHER and LOTA WALTER boarded the plane. They, like me, had decided to look up some old class- mates. As we were exchanging news I found that ROBERT ARMSTRONG had joined the Army Air Force and had worked his way up to a captain, I also found that HARRY RUST now had his own jazz band and was really making good at it, IENNIE ROMES was playing the drums for him and AARON WAYMAN was another Benny Goodman on the clarinet. NORMA IEAN EASTON was their vocalist. They also had heard from WANDA RUSSELL who was a nurse and was working with Dr. ELMER PRICE who is the famous psychiatrist. Working with them also was ROSMARY BINDER and MARCELLA MCNEES. As we were sitting there talking, we noticed a magazine with pictures that looked familiar. When we looked closer we found that MARY and WILLETTA HEIDEMAN were posing for the Toni Twin Ads, We landed at the Cincinnati Airport and felt like we were almost home. When we got a taxi who should be the driver but IIMMY WILSON. He told us that DALE STEPHENS had hired IAMES PAYNE as his chauffer and that they had traveled all over the world, We also learned that PAUL SODEN was an electrical engineer and was doing quite well. As we were traveling on home we noticed a lot of signs etc., announcing the operas that were to be put on at Independence and the star being MONA GUTTRIDGE and her publicity chairman was MATTHEW LINZ. CLASS PROPHECY Sunday morning we went to church and found the minister to be VIRGIL MANERS. At church we saw Mrs. Howard Stewart Cformerly AUDREY BURKHARTJ with her husband and family. She told us that EMOGENE SCHLUETER and VIOLA NEWSPICKEL were planning to have a double wedding in Iune. After church we saw IOAN APPEL coming down the street with a strange man .We found out that she and IACK GIBSON had been married and divorced and this man was her third husband. She told us that FLORENCE ARMSTRONG was a jitterbug instructor for Kalan Dance Studios and that BETTY SNAPE was happily married. As we were walking down the street, we found a beautician school operated by WANDA CROSS, ILA COLLINS, and LOIS BRIDGES. We noticed that the Independence Weekly newspaper had an extra out and as we were looking through it, we found that NELLIE BARNETT was the editor and LUCY CROWDER was the artist. It was announcing the arrival of DOROTHY MASTERS, the lady Wrestler champion and IACK ROSS the new heavy weight champion, since he K.O.'d Curly Kayoe, who were making a public appearance in Independence. We also noticed in the paper that THOMAS BERKEMEIER Wes president of HILLS and that NORMA WORKS was a buyer at Penny's. BERNIE PARR has started a chain of general stores from one side of the country to the other. We went in the Melody Inn for a soda, and the waitress was none other than WANDA WILLIAMS. She said PEARL SARGENT also worked there, but it was her day off. She told us that BETTY TATTERSHALL and VERA TEBELMANN were operators at Inde- pendence and that ALMA LeMASTER was a private secretary to RICHARD COLCLOUGH, who was now running the Kenton County Motors. It seems that the farmers of the country were celebrating, when WILLIAM I-IEEGER came to town because he was a chemist and had discovered wonderful chemicals for the soil. The speaker for the group was RUSSELL MCKINLEY. In the group of farmers who were meeting him were EDWIN IACKSON, WILLIAM GIBSON, HOWARD HUGHES, GEORGE MEIMAN and CHARLES B'HYMER. We learned that a few of our classmates remained at SIMON KENTON, not as students but as teachers. DONALD ADRIAN is the science teacher, MARY BANKS is the dean of girls and has charge of the Girl Reserves. FRANCES FLYNN is the Home Ec. teacher, IACK GIBSON is dramatic director, and KENNETH MYERS and DAN HERMES are the coaches. Since we have found out all about all our classmates, it is time to go back to work. Pl'ge Twenty-Nine
