x PROLOGUE This is not our dream book issue, but the Class of 19-lll presents it to you with pride and elation. As far as we can see, our book is lust as symbolic in meaning as any previous one of its kind. The only modification is that our yearbook is stripped of embellishments, but we Seniors consider this only a meager sacrifice as compared to that which our boys in service must makeg thus we have no apologies to offers lt is our book, and we are happy to present it to you, We intended it to be simple in manner, patriotic in tone, and unique in style, It represents lust us. Our endeavor is for you to grasp our lite here for six years in our beloved school among dear friends and dear teachers. And now as all Seniors must do, we have to depart, but it is indeed with poignant regret that we take leave of you. May the ties which we have formed here together linger on through the year as a true emblem of comradeshipt It is our hope that in the years to come, when you turn the leaves between these two covers, this product of our work may be a key to many pleasant hours of con- solation and happiness to you. If this arm be attained, then we shall feel richly repaid for our efforts in the production and publication of this, our PIONEER of l944, PCI!!! FOLII' eq, U
