LOOKING BACKWARD August 29, 1955, was bright and sunny and spirits were high. It was the first day of a new chapter in the lives of 44 freshmen. The class roll included: Roy, Jerry, Darlene B., Sharon Blossom, Art, Leonard Browning, Carolyn, John E. . Jack Fatz, Lynn, Max- ine and Linda, Patty, Gwen, Emily, Mary Jean Ivey, Margaret, Fred K, , Mel, JoAnne, Darrel Lancaster, Fred L. , Roy Link, Joey, Wes Lords, Karen Maney, Charlie, Karen Murdoch, Carol, Donnamae, Rose, Ray, Nancy, Diana, Shirley, Evelyn, Violet Sol- seng, Hazel, Louella, Fay, Charles, Darlene W. , Gary, and Lawrence. Chosen to lead the class that year were Joey as President, Fred L. as Vice President, and Fay as Secretary-Treasurer, with Mr. Spangler as sponsor. As freshmen, we learned how much we could get away with in music class before the redhead lost her temper, and in Gen- eral Science, we learned how to ward off those tests. A bang and a picnic at the river closed the first chapter of our high school days. ln the fall of '56, we learned we had lost Art, Leonard, Jack, and Wes, but Gay, Crystal Richardson, Wanda, and Zelma Lashway came, making a total of 44. This year We gave the incoming freshmen an initiation to end all - complete with a Kangaroo Court and the dance that we sponsored. Class officers elected were: Charles, President, Gay, Vice President, and Shirley, Secretary-Treasurer, with Don Rose and Miss Goodwin as co-sponsors. In geometry class there were such individuals as Charlie Smith, Kem- tone, Sas, and B-jerk, and as a whole we became Yahoo's and Knotheads. In history, EVERYONE learned to write! ! Parties and dances sprinkled through our sophomore year relieved the pain of going to school. A picnic also ended this year, and we were halfway to our goal as graduates. We were finally upperclassmen! We found that -Darrel, Roy, Violet, and Crystal had left us, but Myrna, Bill, Johnny, Art, and Barbara Hoisington filled the vacancies mak- ing a final count of 45. Bill Aubert and Jack Hane co-sponsored our class led by Fay, President, Roy, Vice President, and Hazel, Secretary-Treasurer. Play practice turned out the masterpiece, Hessie of the Hills, with Diana, Hazel, and Jerry in the leading roles. Playing hide and seek in cars was fun fwasn't it Gay, Fred L. , Charles, and Fay'?J, but remember where our chicken dinner feast for the last play practice meal came from? They shoot horse thieves and rustlers. . . wonder what happens to. . . oh, welll Say, does anyone know what was REALLY in that jug?? l l I Then came the Prom - and the 'differ- ences of opinion which made our Junior class famous for infamousj, In the setting of a medieval castle, Connie Rae Robbins was crowned queen with Dorothy Lynes and Donnie Jacobsen as attendants. In quick succession we put on the Junior-Senior Banquet for the seniors and presented them all with gifts on Class Night. The State Track Meet, picnics, etc. Cwe won't go into that etclj closed the third chapter in our high school days. September 2, 1958 came finally, ending the last high school summer vacation we'd have. We all took our places as mighty seniors with all the honors that title bestows. Zelma, Barbara, and Mary Jean left, but Donna Arps and Marlene came into our class making a total of 44. Gay, President, Linda, Vice President, and Joey, Secretary-Treasur er were chosen to lead our class with Bill Aubert and Mr. Smith as co-sponsors. We put on a Jailhouse Rock - remember that dance, Roger? As we traded pictures and wrote in yearbooks we realized that these were the final pages in the last, wonderful chapter ot life at Simms High,

LOOKING FORWARD The class of '59 is much too scattered to even have a reunion this year, 1969, so our roving photographer, Donnamae has used up half of her millionaire husband's million traveling all over the world to photograph each of our class members as they are now. The picture reels have arrived and are on the projector. Let's sit back, re- lax, and see what has happened to everyone else. Donna started in Sun River where she found Gay at Hall's still playing pinochle, with Em sitting on her boss's knee taking dictation. Linda Rose, Wanda, and Jerry all have large families of their own. lt looks as though Maxine is raising her own Navy, while Chas. has raised a girls' football team. Donna Arps is enjoying her GRANDchildren already! Bill climbed off a bronc long enough to report that Art was riding the rails, but he didn't know exactly where. Roy is working hard supporting all his kids fno wife, thoughlj, and Karen Maney and Nancy, the English teacher. have the job of teaching them. CThose kids! They were enough to cause Darlene W. to retirelj. There's Charlie M. putting his team through their paces for the camera while their band leader Uohnnyj looks on in disgust. Shirley and Fred? Oh, they're at Cape Can- averal ready to blast off in Darlene B. 's rocket to the moon and to Mars, where they will visit Marlene and her 30 kids. Oh, dear! Karen Murdoch and Carol are STILL arguing! Well, at least their nurses, Marg and Louella, are around when their blood pressure gets too high, and the doc, Mel, is there in case the fight gets TOO out of hand! There's Hazel writing a dictionary of her own. Our Home Ec. major, Joey, did well - she's cooking for the president! John E. is taking life easy. There's Carolyn, too - she's still looking for a free male. CBetter get busy, 'cause there aren't many leftlj Oh, now we're visiting Ev. Say, who's that handsome cowboy beside you? Your husband? Wow! And there is Patty - private secretary to Hugh O'Brien, no less. Ray is busy customizing cars for Lynn's Custom Car Company. Myrna has her own beauty parlor now and it looks like she is keeping busy. Hmmm, there's Standard Oi1's new head accountant, JoAnne. In the same office we find Gwen, the telephone operator. What fun she has reversing the charges on customers! Imagine having to go clear to EGYPT to find Gary! ! Look, he's digging up mummies. Grabbing a dogesled, our photographer found Fred and Fay herding kids and cows at their Alaskan ranch. Then off to New Zealand to see Lawrence and up to Hawaii to talk to Diana. CLooks like they're having nice vacations!! And it's sure easy to see why this film cost Donna a half million dollars!! Oh, dear! Over so soon. Well, it's time to pack up the films and send them on to another classmate. Hope we can do this again sometime!
