HIGHLIGHTS . . . See that excited creature blundering into the hallowed halls of Simms high! That is you, September, 1954, an age or two ago, Remember your thoughts as you looked over your new-found classmates -- Hmm, she's cute -- l think I'd like to know that kid, wonder if we'll be friends? lt wasn't long before you were friends, all thirty of you -- Yvonne Baker, Bernice Carver, Judy Couch, class presidentg Leslie Crepeau, Dale Clark Mark Ehenzirner, Guy Fish, Eldon Gray, Bill Harris, Donnie Jacobsen, Joe Johnston, Shirley Keiper, Dave Konopatske, Bill Leistiko, Dorothy Lynes, Connie Mc- Cann, Paul McCann, Gary Murdoch, Arlen Rammell, Zelda Richter, Connie Robbins, Martha Jean Robbins, Teddy Robbins, Mary Stinchfield, Floyd Suek, Gabe Takala, class secretray-treasurerg Wilbur Taylor, Betty Thomson, Carlo Tobel, and Jim Thor- oughman, Vice President, You really got an education that first year -- you learned how to play hookey without getting caught before you got awayg how to scream effectively when that black Stude took a cornerg how to get kicked out of Phil's English class three times a week and remain in school: how to play the chromatic scale at just the proper intervals to cover up what was REALLY going on in those practice closets. Those were the wilder years, the corn was green, and the laughter irrepressible, but somehow you lived to claim the title of Sophomores, Judy Pym, Marge Whitcraft, and Edna Arland joined you that yearg Guy Fish and Mary Stinchfield left. And Clarksie, you never DID pay back that 7042! Harris, did you EVER get full? What happened to Miss McGinnis's glass? After practice you used to,turn the stage into a dance hall and go a few rounds to Butterfly, 'Sentimental Journey, Come Go With Me, or Memories Are Made of This. AND THEN? The silver coins sink dizzily into the jade-lined pool leaving trails of sparkling bubbles for the gleeful figures to dive after. What a glorious setting for our class re- union -- that Gabe Takala always was a dear --- and now to open his Palm Springs re- sort to his old classmates, asking only that we entertain him by diving for dimes as he tosses them from his shaded lounge. Here comes Zelda with another bushel of coins: wonder if she's finished cleaning the stables? Oh, that 1.468118 Crepeau won't get out of my way! She insists on filling Dobbin's aching molar! It's just like old times even with all the celebrities in our midst, There's Yvonne Baker, voted Mrs. American Homemaker of 1968. It 's fun to say of the gal who took over for Betty Crock- er, She tried out her recipes on us at play practice 10 years ago! None other than Betty Thomson! I guess you could call that guy a celebrity too, but don't ask for an autograph -- he'll do it on your arm with the needle! Yup, it's Paul McCann, Barnum and Bailey's professional tatooer, Hello, folks, this is Ramblin Rammell, your favor- ite county extention agent! Arlen and Bill Leistiko, our good -will ambassador to Africa, are discussing problems of the soil -- Montanan and Mau-Mau. Bill is teaching the Head-hunters how to grow productive corn by inserting a shrunken head in each mound, This gal came all the way from the Arctic! Nano, what in the world do you do in that ice-box? Chew rawhide for 10 little Eskimosl she answers without bat- ting an eye. Who are the two little men in the gray flannel suits with the ba ld heads? Oh, it's Gray and Harris, Inc. , that psychiatric team that has been investigating the human mentality, Pull up another couch, their favorite diseptomaniac, Dorothy Lynes, is here. What gives with the auction in Palm Springs? It's Donnie Jacobsen assisting Wilbur in unloading his used cars.
