The Eighth Grade Sponsor, Mrs. Bertha D. Woods Our class began in September with twenty members. Since that time we have had five withdrawals leaving an enrollment of fifteen. We have two sub-honor students in our class, Curtis Brady with an av- erage of 3.7 and Carole Carter 3.6. Our class had the highest scholastic record for the first semester. No student made below a D average for the first semester. The class has participated in the following activities: A radio program and two chapel programs. We have added a set of Encyclopedias, The Wonderland of Knowl- edge , three dictionaries, and twenty-five new books to our classroom library this year. The 7th Grade Class Sponsor, Miss E. F. Wood The members of the seventh grade Class have enjoyed a very successful school year under the leadership of Miss E. F. Wood, our class sponsor. The Class has stressed honesty, hard work, fair play, courtesy, good manners and perseverance, since they are guide-posts to good character. We were very happy to present the first radio program for the school year the theme being Good Citizenship , and at our chapel hour Rev. N. G. Harris, pastor of First Baptist Church, Montgomery, W. Va., was our guest speaker. His address was a master piece. Shirley Newman represented the class in the band. Leading in scholastic averages for the year were Thomas Diggs, Wm.
