Prorncthcar Queen Mary jurasek Laura Christensen This year the Promethean Society held it's first Annual Sweetheart Dance. The dance, held on the evening of the twelfth of February, was climaxed by the crowning of the Promethean Sweetheart, Miss Mary jurasek. Mary was chosen from a list of eight Senior candidates. The candi- dates names Were submitted by the members of the society. On the night the voting took place, every member that nominated one of the candidates gave the girl's qualifica- tions to the club members. Here are two whom we honor for their outstanding example. They were chosen on the basis of personality, school spirit, academic achievement, groom- ing, and for the active part they have taken in making our Senior Class of 1966 and our school the greatest. Tom and Becky will always be a part of Simi High School history because they are the all-around students who represent the citizens that we would all like to be. Sweethearts WHIUIW' Becky Buckley Sherrie Merritt main factor that decided who the Sweetheart would he was what services she had performed for the school. The girl's name was kept a secret even from the Prometheans until the night of the dance. When crowning time came all eight of the candidates and their escorts mounted the stage. Each of the candidates carrying one White rose, the Promethean flower. When the Sweetheart's name was announced she received a bouquet of white roses. This years' dance was semi-formal.
