Eight members of the Pony Express staff were ac- cepted for International Quill and Scroll, the most highly respected high school journalism honor so- ciety in the nation. The newspaper was published monthly during the school year. Columns such as Heap of the Week, Horsing Around and Kimberling's Korner became very popular. Many of the staff members gained valuable experience in journalism reporting by writing for outside publications. Thom Kruzel and Lane Holt wrote bi- weekly columns for the Valley News Green Sheet. Ron Kimber- ling was sports editor for the Enterprise. Kathi Curran, Bar- bara Cichon and Pam Atwater wrote a school column for the En- terprise. Bob Gardner was student director in public relations.
