Class History In September of 1936, a small group of boys and girls started to school in the first grade at Jamestown, Ohio, under the super- vision of Miss Rachel Jones. These boys and girls were Bliss Allen, Mildred Bradshaw, Ruthanna Bowermaster, Bailey Jones, Ernest Rockhold, Clarice Stephens, and Dorothy Suttles. In the second semester, when the new building was completed, We were joined by Martha Anne Fuerst, Robert Stafford, Donald Person, and Vivian Ficks from Za Zag Wilma Finney and Grace Gifford from Oak Knoll, Lucille Webb from Myers, and Norma Marchant from Washington C. H., Ohio. The Second Grade brought us Kenneth Dennis from Frank- fort, Ohio, and Patty Goings from Luttrell, Ohio. In the Third Grade, Delmer Bone came from Lawman School in Xenia, Ohio. There were no more changes in our class until the fifth year when Nathan Burr came from Knoxville, Tennessee. In the Sixth Grade, Eleanor Jacobs came from Hyslop and Nedra Harper came from Cedarville to give our class a total of twenty-one. The Seventh Grade brought us Herbert Carter from Beaver- creek. In the Eighth Grade Don Tracy, also from Beavercreek, and Lawrence Davis from Xenia came into our class. Almeda Jones from Dunbar came in our Freshman year. The most important event to date was our Junior Class play, Aunt Tillie Goes To Town . Our Junior-Senior Reception was held at the Hartman Theatre in Columbus, Ohio, followed by a dinner at Mill's Restaurant. Since we are now preparing to leave school, we can look back into the years and find that these days may well be the happiest ones in our lives.

Characters: Nedra Harper-professional model Don Tracy-car dealer from Texas Bailey jones-accountant at bank After purchasing and selling many new cars, I found it necessary to make a trip to New York to deposit my money. I went into the Chase National Bank and to my surprise, I found Bailey Jones as the chief accountant. Don: Well, what are you doing here? Just as I might expect, head accountant at the Chase National Bank. . Bailey: Yes, I've been here for fourteen years now. I've been very successful in my business and I imagine you have, too. Don: Yes, I have, Bailey, but why don't we have lunch together so we can talk about old times? I know you're too busy to talk right now so I'll sit down over here and wait for you. Bailey: Oh, look who's coming! You remember Nedra Harper, don't you? Well, she's a professional model now. You and she can talk while you're waiting for me and then we can all go to lunch together. Nedra: Well, if it isn't Don Tracy. It has been years since Ilve seen you. Bailey: My work can wait, let's go eat now. The car is outside. Don: I hear Kenneth Dennis is editor of the New York Times. Nedra: Yes, and Eleanor Jacobs is his typist and bookkeeper, isn't she? Bailey: Yes, and have you ever heard from Delmer Bone? Don: I got a letter from him the other day. He is the owner of a grocery store in New Jasper. Nedra: Here we are at the Waldorf so I guess we will have to wait until later to finish our conversation. Bailey: I heard that Don Person is head waiter here, maybe we'll get to see him. Don: Here's a place. Let's sit down here. Bailey: By the way, I hear that Norma Marchant is a buyer for a large department store. Nedra: Who owns the store now? Don: Her husband, Ralph Taylor, bought it a few months ago. Bailey: I wonder how Dorothy Suttles, Vivian Ficks, and Ruth Anna Bowermastcr like farm life. You know they are all married. Don: Whom did they marry? Bailey: Dorothy married Bob Glass, Ruth Anna married Bill St. John, and Vivian married Maurice Hartman. Nedra: What are Clarice Stephens and Patty Goings doing now? Still jerking sodas at Clairc's Cutrate? Don: I wonder if they will ever get out of that business? Bailey: Yes, Patty is a secretary for a. lawyer and Clarice is a personnel worker. Nedra: That's fine. That is just what they wanted to be. Don: Did Bob Stafford ever become a doctor? Bailey: Yes, he was practicing in this city but was transferred to another not long ago. Nedra: I hear that Lawrence Davis is a poet and also has his own jazz band. Ernest Rockholzl is a concert pianist and I hear he is really good. Don: I read in the paper that Bliss Allen and Almeda jones are both singing with large bands and are receiving large salaries. Bailey: That is what I heard, also. Oh, there is Don Person but he looks as if he's busy, so I guess we won't get to talk to him after all. Don: Have either of you heard from Martha Anne Fuerst? Nedra: Yes, I have. She's living in a penthouse on Park Avenue and enjoying it very much. Don: How did she get so much money? Bailey: I read in the paper that she inherited some money, and her husband and her own a large dress shop. Lucille Webb is their great dress designer. You both remember her, don't you? Nedra: Yes, she always drew such wonderful pictures. Don: Did you know that she and Herbert Carter are married? He manages a large farm. Their work is altogether different but they get along swell. Nedra: Did I tell you who my secretary is? It is Grace Gifford. She types for me and if it wasn't for her, I would miss all my appointments. Bailey: I got a letter from Nathan Burr last week. He is the chief engineer at Ohio State. Nedra: I got a letter from Wilma Finney and one from Mildred Bradshaw last week, also. Do you know what they are doing? Bailey: Mildred is teaching commercial work in Colorado, isn't she? I imagine she makes a good teacher. Don: And Wilma is secretary for her father who owns a big cement factory east of Jrmvstown. Nedra: Here comes the waiter so we had better stop talking now. I know we are all hungry. Bailey: Yes, that is a good idea.
