From the first organizational years through the time when we had no principal, a split campus, and the onslaught of Proposition 2V2 with its ensuing budget cuts, Tony has always done his job with a smile and a kind word. He extends a helping hand to anyone who needs it, whether they are involved in the athletic program, his classes. or they are just casual acquaintances. Richard Killion ln Memoriam Mr. Killion taught Latin for many years at Silver Lake. His zealots respected him as a teacher and re- member him as an entertainer and truly a gentleman. Watson's quote is the theme of the message thatl want to provide to members of the Class of 1984. He stated, All the problems of the world could be settled easily if men were only willing to think. The trouble is that men very often resort to all sorts of devices in order not to think because thinking is such hard work. The Silver Lake Regional School Districts ultimate goal is to provide for you a fundamental basis of conceptual understanding and active thinking when assimilating data and determining rational solutions to the complex problems of our society. He dreamed he was walking along the beach with the LORD. Across the sky flashed scenes from his life. For each scene, he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand, one belonging to him, and the other to the LORD. When the last scene of his life flashed before him, he looked back at the footprints in the sand. He noticed that many times along the path of his life there was only one set of footprints. He also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times in his life. This really bothered him and he questioned the LORD about it. LORD, you said that once l decided to follow you, you'd walk with me all the way. But l have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life, there is only one set of footprints. I don't understand why when l needed you most you would leave me. The LORD replied, My precious, precious child, l love you and l would never leave you. During your times of trial and suffering, when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that l carried you. SPIRITAN ARTS When God calls little children to dwell with Him above we mortals sometime question the wisdom of His love. For no heartache compares with the death of one small child who does so much to make our world seem wonderful and mild. Perhaps God tires of calling the aged to his fold, so he picks a rosebud before it can grow old. God knows how much we need them, and so He takes but few to make the land of Heaven more beautiful to view. Believing this is difficult still somehow we must try, the saddest word mankind knows will always be Goodbye So when a little child departs, we who are left behind must realize God loves children, Angels are hard to find. Scoring punch will be provided by seniors Priscil- la Cubie and Linda Naili and juniors Tanya Woodall and Lauren Young. Senior Candy Boyn- ton and junior Ginger Lane will be called upon for solid contributions. Junior Denise Mulkern and sophomore Liane Ahearn will see action at the guard positions while sophomores Marcia Carl- son and Tracy Moscato will action as forwards. The girls are looking forward to the challenge of the tough Old Colony League schedule ahead of them with enthusiastic anticipation. The Lakers will again be an exciting team to follow this season.
