To some members of the class of 'l979, this vvill conclude twelve years of formal education. Our school district has at- tempted, through a diversity of programs, to provide each of you with some basic competencies. Other members of this class will continue to pursue formal education through vari- ous types of post-secondary educational programs. Your academic preparation will enable you to seek new levels of in- tellectual involvement. My message to you is brief but pointed. Whatever you do, in whatever capacity, in whatever environment - do it to the best of your ability. Pride, commitment and integrity must become part of your performance il' you arelto attain your goals. Through this individualistic ap- proach, you can provide future gener- ations vvith a better world in which to live. 7 Paul Squarciai QA? J Superintendent - I If vve are to grovv as vve face the uncer- tain future, then we have to prepare for failure. Here is another major stumbling block in the foundation of change. Amer- icans love success, love it too much. We must, through the Class of '79, recapture the failure that leads to growth and suc- cess and invention. If we cannot tolerate some vvaste and some mistakes, then we ought not to involve ourselves in change. I suggest that you never act unless you have conviction. If you are convinced, then you will not try to blame another for a mistake and you vvill count mistakes as steps toward a goal. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate, commend and honor you, the Class of 'l979. Sincerely Nfl. i I. , , AAL A LW, 77 66,448 Albert F. Argenziano Director of Secondary Education 'l4
