MR. RICHARD ST. ONGE MR. DALE DEAM MR. RICHARD THOMAS Vocational training provides the student, who ordinarily wouldn ' t go on to higher educa- tion, with a trade. There are ag- ricultural, carpentry, and auto- motive courses. There is also a course in home management for girls. Many special projects have been undertaken this year. Two of these are the construction of the football grandstands and the administration building, which are being built by the carpentry department.

The Science Department at Silver Lake provides students with the back- ground necessary to meet the chal- lenges of the ever increasing role of science in everyday life. Our courses are constantly expanding to keep pace with modem scientific advance- ments. This year has seen great moderni- zation in the study of Chemistry. An entirely new approach to its study is being employed, and a course for fu- ture nurses has been added. This year, as before, Advance Placement Science Seminar is being ofTered to Seniors. Earth Science is now avail- able to Business and General, as well as to College Course students.
