We have a conservation center which we use for picnics, reunions, etc. We have churches which our people attend for better guidance in their spiritual beliefs. I, John Bucher, will my seat by the radiator in Mr. Murphy ' s class to whoever is cold ' blooded and my parking place by the church to anyone with a wreck worse than mine. I, Linda Caudill, will my position as newspaper artist to Ed Slone, my ability to refrain from telling things which are no one else ' s business to you guess who. I, Betty Clark, wHl my Senior books to my brother, Ray, in hope he will get more out of them than I did, and my ability to get along with Mrs. Frey to anyone who needs it. I, Beverly Ewing, hereby will my ability to type 65 words a minute to Kenny Murphy, and my ability to get along with the opposite sex to Mr. Murphy. I, Karen Freed, will my ability to drive over 75 and stay calm to Carlene Cripe, and title as Miss SUver Lake to Barbara Parker, also my ability as cheerleader to Gaylo Jagger, who has enough pep for 10 cheerleaders. I, Bruce Frey, being of sick mind and tired body, do hereby will my dislike for citizenship marks to Mr. Bogue, and my old parking places to Kenny Murphy. I, Karen Heckaman, will my ability to talk indoors, outdoors, study hall, and class to Mary Metzger, and my ability to make friends and getalong with the Class of ' 61 to Mr. Murphy. I, Linda Hopkins, will my typewriter to whomever wants it, and I will my ability to keep my hair one color to Toni Miller. I, Larry Jagger, will my ability to sleep in the study hall and not get caught to Jim Lotz, and my ability to resist girls to Darrell Drudge. I, Joy Leckrone, will all my marks I got from Mrs. Frey to Kenny Murphy, my government book to anyone who thinks they can get anything out of it. I, Kathy McKenzie, will my ability to get along with Mr. Eubanks to Mr. Eubanks, and my feeling free to spend money to Mr. Murphy, and all my pictures that didn ' t turn out to Mr. Wroughton. I, Jack Mendenhall, will my ability to get into trouble in shop class to Kenny Murphy, and my ability as a great lover to anyone who thinks I am a great lover. I, Philip Metzger, will my chair in band to Steve Newhouse, my horn to anyone stupid enough to carry that heavy thing, and my ability not to get marks to Dave Simpsono I, Mary Redinger, willmyextra weight to Barbara Kneller, my place on the honor roll to my brother, Billy, and my books to Pamela Musser. I, Gale Salyer, will my seat below the skylight to anyone with failing vision, my heel plates to Mr. McPherson, my old maps tests to Mr. Murphy, and my size 11 engineer boots to Bob Zimmer. I, Earl Scherer, being of sound mind, have decided not to will anything to anyone most of all not my seat in the assembly because I might need it next year. I, Lucinda Ann Sittler, will my ability to get in the school building just as the bell rings to Bob Zimmer, and my ability to get in trouble to the good little people of this school. I, Ted Smith, will my desk and books to whomever wants them, and my ability to keep from getting marks to anyone who thinks they can keep from getting them. I, Cathy Surface, will my ability to talk in study hall and not get caught to Joyce Timberman, my grades to my brother Richard, and my good times in high school to Paulette Parker. I, Bob Whittlesey, will my loud muffler to Lee Moyer, and my seat in the study hall, by the door, to anyone who likes fresh air. CLASS HISTORY We have thirteen Seniors in the class of ' 61 who have gone all 12 years to Silver Lake High School, These people are the following: Peggy Arnold, born to Willodean and John on September 14, 1943; Terry Bouse, bom to Marie and Wayne on March 1, 1943; John Bucher, bom to Barbara and Daniel on June 22, 1943; Beverly Ewing, born to Norma and Herbert on May 24, 1943; Karen Freed, bom to Mabel and Virgil on May 1, 1943; Bruce Frey, born to Cleo and Owen on April 16, 1943; Linda Hopkins, bom to Vicie and William on June 25, 1943; Larry Jagger, born to Evelyn and William on March 26, 1943; Sue Lehmer, bom to Anna and Robert on May 29, 1943; Philip Metzger, bom to Kathryn and Everett on Jan- uary 11, 1943; Mary Redinger, bom to Ruby and Byron on June 11, 1943; Gale Salyer, bom to Marie and Earl on August 13, 1943; Earl Scherer, bom to Viola and Leroy on May 11, 1943; Ted Smith, bom to Dora and Clinton on March 13, 1943. We have four transfer students in our class, which are: Betty Clark, who at- tended six years at Franklin, two years at Burket, and the last four years at Silver Lake; Karen Heckaman, who attended six years at Franklin, one year at Burket, andthe remainingfiveyearsatSilver Lake; Joy Leckrone, who attended six years at Franklin, and the remaining six years at Silver Lake; Cathy Surface, who attend- ed the first six years at Franklin, the next two at Burket, and the last four at Silver Lake. We also have six Seniors who moved here to join our class. They are: Linda Caudill, who came here in the second grade from Giliad; Kathleen McKenzie, who came from Pennsylvania to join our class in the last half of the seventh grade; Jack Mendenhall, who came here in his Junior year from Wabash; Lucinda Sittler, who came here in the Sophomore year from Claypool; Bob Whittlesey, who came here from Leesburg in his Junior year; and Edward Zile, who came here from Ft. Wayne to join us in the seventh grade. She is employed as the hairdresser of the stars. Recently she did Yxil Brenner ' s hair style for the King and T Terry Bouse is now owner of an all electric lizzard ranch in the Everglades of Florida. Mr. Bouse is contemplating quitting the lizzard business because his 300 lb. wife keeps stepping on the poor little creatures and gets shocked. John Bucher is now employed as a barber in the huge city of Packerton. Mr. Mrs. Bucher have made a vast fortune by creating a new hair cut called crock chop . Linda Caudill is planning after graduation at good old P.U. (Podunk University) to make a tour of Northern Siberia to peddle her famous original fakes of Whistler ' s Grand- father. BettyClarknowis secretary to Elvis Presley. She and Elvis are planning to travel to Liberty Mills, where Mr. Presley is planning to buy the town, so that he will have a parking lot for his pink and green Cad. Beverly Ewing is now part owner with her husband of the Double- Bubble Root Beer Bar. She and Mr. Collins have become the proud parents of a 10 lb. baby boy, whom they call Tom Collins. Karen Freed is now the worlds greatest opera star and is now performing at the Metropolitan Opera House. Her performance of Shorting Bread has caused her to join the Foreign Legion. Bruce Frey is now a prominent lawyer in the metropolis of Deadwood, Alaska. Mr. Frey has had 12 secretaries in the last two months. It seems they all quit because they lose so much weight running around their desks. Karen Heckaman now a nurse at Silver Lake Medical Center has three children Eenie, Meenie, Minnie. Mrs. Karen More said she is expecting her fourth child which she will name NO MORE. Linda Hopkins, because of her secretarial work, has achieved the title of the Women ' s Olympic Track Star. Miss Hopkins credits it all to being the secretary of Bruce Frey. Joy Leckrone is the owner of a famous chain of Beauty Shops, which specialize in doing wigs for manaquins. Her customers can ' t complain. Sue Lehmer has become a famous typing teacher. Teaches hunt and peck method. She says one of her recent students did the grand total of 10 words per minute. Kathy McKenzie is now a motorcycle driver at Indianapolis. Having won several awards for speed on the track. She imagines John in front of her and she is trying to catch him. Larry Jagger, employer unknown, is now painting swastikas on White House walls. Our source assures us he will soon be drawing unemployment insurance at Alcatraz. Jack Mendenhall studied art in Paris for 12 years. Of his masterpieces painted there, his most prized was the painting of the Eiffel Tower fire engine red. Philip Metzger now owns an airport east of Silver Lake. While studying how to fly, by correspondence, accidents frequently occur. Take-off easy but can ' t land. Mary Redinger, as we see her now, is a columnist for the Rose Hill Record. Mary writes a special column for people who can ' t read. GaleSalyer, after 15 years with the U. S. Treasury, receives first promotion. Now paints Washington ' s wig on dollar bills in place of putting beards on Lincoln. Earl Scherer, test pilot in Air Force, set new record. Only bad feature is he will spend rest of his life paying for the 243 airplanes he has cracked up. Cindy Sittler is a futurama dress designer for a shop which creates all the First Ladies ' gowns. These gowns are all made of spun glass. Ted Smith, known world-wide, has made history by swimming the Atlantic Ocean. He did it the hard way, by swimming under water. Cathy Surface is nowa famous ballet dancer. Her latest performance was an excerpt from Swan Lake called the Turkey Tumble. Bob Whittlesey, now a famous engineer, is boss for building world ' s largest dam. Latest word was- work held up- have to wait on level of Eel River to go down. Ed Zne is now owner and operator of Sycamore Street drag strip in Silver Lake. The only disadvantage is that Eddie keeps falling asleep on the track while waiting for cars to come across the finish line.
