When he was a sophomore he ? played center on the second team and was a substitute Zf on the first team. As a junior and senior Carl was playing center on the first team. Carl stands 6'3 Z gig Z tall and weighs 190 pounds. This year he was the Zggm Rambler's high scorer with a total of 2935 points. fa Q aqa ,hx 4 M Z Jay Parker, a short but mighty man, came to our Q ga! school From Franklin. He played on the second team 4, VA g whenafreshman and as a sophomore was also substitute Wa, on the first team. In his junior and senior years he ,WZ was a regular guard on the first team. Ja collected ,, , Y , a total of 148 points in a very successful year. Jay A, , is 5' 5 cali and weighs 140 pounds. n Xe:-, 62 ,sf 'fee ' Z J if .ff 'sas Ep-Q Z 0,5 2 1 J 54 ' 66 'Z Glenn Rager, blond curley haired lad, played forward on the second team in his freshman year. .He was on the first in his sophomore, junior, and senior years as forward. Glenn's total for the year was 171 points. He is 6' 1 tall and weighs 165 pounds. Lewis Fruit started his basketball career when he was a freshman. He played on the second team as a f fee- Q Z if at a f af an 'Mn f ? guard and substitute on the first team. Lewis was 0 , 92,2 substitute on the first team in his sophomore year and saw quite a little action. In his junior andnsenior ZZ QM Q0 years he was a regular on the first team, playinggthe Z guard powition. Lewis stands at an even.6' and weighs 183 pounds.b HS scored a total of 99 points and was a 5602 a , n man Q Z valuable re ou . 2 ,X gg Q Tom Lyle Summe, an all county and an all sectional forward started his basketball career in his freshman IQ Z5 year. He played on the second team the first year. As 26 a sophomore, he won first place as a forward. In his junior year he was captain and in his senior year he a 2 was playing his forward position. The senior year, get 5 Bob was a substitute on the first team and got to see a fi f great deal of action. Bob as a senior is 5' ll tall L., and weighs 162 pounds. fa? .at Q .Syl.Allen, a very faithful player started playixg f Z ball in his freshman year. He saw a lot of action in if the past four years. He played on the second team for QQ Z two years and is substituting for the first team. As a ggw' W, senior he is 6' tall and weighs l4O pounds. age Z7 Coach Dick Beck is a graduate of Syracuse High 3 School. He attended Manchester College for three years ty Z then went to the Army Air Force. He returned to Manchester College and finished his work there. He came f to Silver Lake for his first year of teaching. I The four juniors on the first eleven were Dick 'Z ,f Jontz, Bob Rider, Otto Wright and Dale Roberts. They were substitutes this year, but we feel they have ff jf possibilities for next year. The scoring and weight are as follows: . The student managers for the Ramblers this year ZZ were Maynard Nade, senior, and Donald Deaton, a junior. ' X Maynard started his career as a student manager in his freshman year. He did not go out in his sophomore year ' VZ . Z but got back in form in his junior and senior years. Q This is the first year for Donald as student manager, 5209452 but he did very well. He was Maynard's assistant and did. most of the work.
