On February 14, the Team played North Manchester at the college gym. The 1, Ramblers were defeated in another overtime game. The Jazz Band or Sentimental Seven had some ,S special numbers, and vocal solos were sung by Lewis Fruit V' acting as Al Jolsong Glenn Rager, as Frank Sinatra, and s Jay Parker, an opera singer, as Lena Horne. Several SX X numbers were sung by the quartet, consisting of Otto .QS as Wright, Lewis Fruit, Glenn Rager, and Jay Parker. Wx? sg R ,SX Sy Qing on March 22, 1946, the Silver Lake Juniors and .ings Seniors along with the BeaverDam and Leesburg Seniors R a waited anxiously at Claypool for the train to come .sfkii ss and start us out on a very interesting trip. We had 5' is planned to go to Niagara Falls and Buffalo, New York. X g At Claypool we took the train to Buffalo stopping 'le XV in Cleveland to rest awhile, then on to Buffalo, which if Q we reached about 11:50 p.m. that night. From there we 5 Xt took busses to Niagara Falls, where we found our hotel sf up and were assigned to our rooms. We all went to bed S late that night, but all were ready to get up at 7:15 f gf, a.m. the next morning and 'start on our journey again. Eg Ty At B a.m. we met in the hotel lobby to go to breakfast. After so long a time we went to the falls and all if , :rougdci AtblO:3O we arrived at our hotel again, and if Mp, 5 oar e a us to go to Bell Aircraft Corporation to 55 x Q see the helicopters and other planes. One group saw Q5-l..,g X. a show while the other group went through the X3 A engineering rooms. Then after that we drew numbers to gee who would get to ride on the helicopter. A boy X, X rom Leesburg drew it. Mr. Sanders from Claypool was 'N taken for a ride along with the Leesburg boy. Then the class officers flipped to see who would get to X- Q' ride - and it was a girl from Leesburg. They found QR' 3,53 that .Tay Barker had a license to fly a plane and they SS took him along, too. Returning, we arrived in Canada Qi ' to eat our dinner. We saw several interesting sights. R32 SS f X X Ss Some students took rides on the Cable Car that went Qi' W: SX' xx across the whirls f' me ' ' ' k s- my t x X 'XXV - We then ate supper and went to the falls and saw 5 my wg it at night with the lights turned on. After supper lg' ,fgg gy we boarded a bus and went to Buffalo Police Station Q1 for a tour all the way through it. Then on to Buffalo's Q., big theatre to see the show of Adventure. It was ff X, S SS early in the morning when we got on the train again, 'l ' si? f and some slept at onceg we had breakfast and dinner on f jill the train.
