Whether we start to Silver Creek 05 seventh graders or freshmen, we develop physically and mentally through co-operotion. We grow in class- rooms by learning with others, in activities by work- ing with others, and in sports by competing with others. We are also encouraged by our teachers in all things until we become young adults in our senior year. on... We are proud of our school because it offers opportunities for progress and growth. It is a grand rush as stu- dents pass through the main hall to their after- noon classes. Enloylng their work t our year in an enlarged building... We began our new school year by moving into the new section which was added to Silver Creek to connect the gymnasium to the original building. This addition consists of offices for the administration, a bookstore, and halls lined with lockers for the stu- dents. The new home economics and chemistry rooms, complete with laboratories, provide us with adequate equipment and give us the incentive to work harder in these subjects. We enjoy working and studying in a building equipped with the new facilities that have been added to our high school. in the spacious quarters of the new offke are Mrs. Stewart, Mr. Pitman, and Mrs. Weber. Pleufunt aromas will fill the air when the home eco- nomucs girls get together. B-e-e-a a-t Henryvillel Cries the cheering section, as the Dragons de- feat the Hornets. At Silver Creek we like to think of our cheering section as 0 big wheel, the cheerleaders being the hub and the boosters the spokes. Win or lose, the wheel turns with enthusiasm to cheer and to en- courage our team to continue to do its best. Sports- manship, courtesy, and school spirit prevail at all our games, at home and away. Varsity cheerleaders: Marilyn Davis, Joyce Montgomery, and Linda Applegate. 3WW$WWW$WWy . JV cheerleaders: Ruth Ann Henderson, Karen Dugan, Jr. Hi cheerleaders: Barbara Meek, Karen Haas, l: 1 Jackie Weber, and Peggy Smith, front. Marie Burns, and Donna McKinley. 44 JUNIOR VARSITY Front Row: Rainbolt, Baxter, Sal- mon, Gladden, Pennington. Second Row: Cleveland, Graham, Harrell, Weber. Although the Freshmen and JV teams failed to come up with winning teams this year, both showed promise. One thing to remember in looking over the records of these teams is that the real importance of the Fresh- men and JV teams is to prepare the boys for varsity ploy. h The JV showed great promise, especially in rebounding. In one game they picked ninety-four rebounds off the backboards. A crop of sophomores 0nd iuniors with good potentials should push SC on its way to more winning seasons. Coach: Bill Makowsky FRESHMEN Front Row: Baker, Miller, Brown, Eastes, Rauck. Second Row: Leon- ard, Balmer, Popp, Harrell, Crow- ford, Dehn.
