4 335 12 . , ,, In the fall of 19246 a large group of sixty-eight sunny faced, simple-minded strangers, who were getting ready for a long travel through the modern educational world, entered the doors of the Silver Creek High School as freshman. We were envious of the seniors. After getting acquainted with all the new faces and ac- quiring new friends, we selected the following to lead us through the coming years Billy llerry, President, Kenton Jones, Vice--President, md J 8-D6 Prather, Secretary and Treasurer. During the year, we spent most of our time in delving into the mysteries of biology, English, and algebra. We have yet to figure out the Rhys and lherefores of biology. To our surprise we struggled through a successful year. H After a wonderful summer of rest and vacations, we entered S.C.H.S. again, to find that we had lost ten of our former friends and companions. le, as silly sophomores, selected as our guides for this year President, Vice-President, Secre- tary and Treasurer as follows: George Pinckley, Billy Merry, Joyce Broady and Donnie Huckleberry. We were eager to order our class rings. ' Now, as jolly juniors, we were on our third step toward the end of our great experience. We were surprised to find nine more of our class-mates were gone. Some fell by the wayside, while others transferred to other schools. We started thinking about ways to earn money to entertain the seniors. We made enough money to take them to the Kentucky Hotel in Louisville to a delicious dinner and enter- tainment for the gvgning. le left broke. Ile received our class rings to find that some of the rings were lost after getting them. In the fall of 19149 we entered in to the last lap of our long journey. Some thought they had enough education, so they were joined in holy matrimony. Others ,f911 heir to V8-I'i0U-S 'TASKS' Thi8 then left us with forty-four members in our class. This year. we published the S.C. Hi-Lites. Happy, but a little regrethll we come to the last curve of our journey. Some of us, no doubt, will venture further on the road that leads to fame and fortune, while others will be content to follow the simple ways of life. The memories of those who led us, and those who traveled with us--1:h'e'gfa1thfu1 leaders and thoughtful, generous fellow travelers who are instrumental :Ln crowning our efforts with success and happiness are most pleasant.
