Overall the players played well, but we were unable to score. We are looking forward to a better season next year. Scott Merritt, Ray Esquivel, Mark Tyrrell, Bob Moreno, Louie Vallez, Mike Camerena, Ruben Soto, Coach Taufer, Coach Zanotto. Vwwitg Baseball, With a new school, inexperience is always the first problem that will come into a coach's mind. Inexperience this year is a major problem, but regardless our team is on its way to a very successful season. In Non - League games our 3-1 record was very impressive and in league play we expect the team to surprise our opponents. We have ballplayers from Overfelt, Mt. Pleasant, Hill, and Oak Grove, but they still all work as a team. Our hitting attack is led by Richard Ele- men, Ruben Soto, and Mark Tyrrell. All hitting well over .300 at the beginning of the season. An impressive pitching staff is led by Sophomore Dave Matusich and Senior Mike Gutierrez. All the players, along with their Coach, hope to prove all sceptics wrong who say a new school can't win ball games. 80
