JESSE RODRIGUEZ--is an- othe r one of the athletes of the Sr. class. He lettered in football in 50-51 and was man- ager this year. He is a stud- ious person having a B aver- age this year, He can usually be seen in his brother's ma- roon Ford. Ie s s e is a quiet guy until he gets started,then he can re ally hold his own. I f' RAYMOND RUSS--is a trackletterman and amem- ber of the Science club. He has gone through his schoolcareer without mis- sing aday ofschool. Bubby, as he is known to his close friends, take s part in al- most every activity and stillmanages to keep a very high ave rage in his grades. JESSE SANCHEZ--is apop- ular guy around S.H.S. He w a s chosen class favorite his Ir.year and was also a lettex-man in basketball the same year, He is still a g re at guy to watch on the basketball floor. He was corresponding secretary of the Stude nt Commission in 50-51. He was president ofthe F.F.A. club in 50-51, and was presi- dent of the Freshman class in 48-49. He was also in the Ir. play last year. Don has kept an A ave rage in all his w o rk throughout high school. R. F. SANFORD--known a- mong his many friends as Sleepy , has been a main stay on the T i g e r basketball team for the last two ye ar s. ANITA PARKS--is a lively g al around the campus. She is a hearty football fan and has beenamember of the Pep Squad for two years, She is also a member of the F. H. A. and Scienc e clubs. Her thoughts stay in Kountz more than in Silsbee. Her plans afte r graduation are incom- plete,unless marriage comes first. SAM QUISENBERRY--a tall blonde who really has a way with the female members of S.H.S. He was chosen as class favorite his Sophomore ye ar and was in the Ir. play cast. Sam is a two ye ar letterman in football and was one ofthe Co-captains. Sammy w as on the Student Council last year and has b e e n on the Satsuma Staff for two years. BETTY JO OLIVER--one of the sm all but loud gals of S.H.S. Sheis the Editor- in-Chiefof the Satsuma and Drum-major of the b and. She was Beverly Page in the Ir. play. Betty is a member of the Sc ienc e, Dramatics and Ludus clubs, Io is well known for her long line of gab and cheer- ful smile. C LEO LA O'QUINN--has been with the Silsbee class along time, She is a mem- ber ofthe F'.H.A. club. Cleola is always re ady to lend a helping hand to any- one who is in need. She is also a wonderful volleyball playe r. She has no defi- nite plans after graduation. HOWARD MINTER--the only member of the class who can ope r ate the projection ma- chine. He joined the class in '48 and hails from Orange. He is a member of the Science Club. Howard is a whiz at math and any kind of science. He is a member of the track tearn. OSCAR MORRISON--j o i ne d the class this year and has already m ade a lot of lasting friendships. He hails from Magnolia High School whe r e he had a ve ry high average. S he is a very friendly girl and a helper to everyone, especially in English. E LB E R T SIMPSON--was in the Junior play cast and did his part very well. He is a very quiet person but a sin- cere friend to everyone. El- bert was a big help to all who took Geometry with him.
