FROM THE STAFF: Bl-:RNICE lVllCKEL, Secretary We believe that all schools are fundamentally department stores - selling the very best line of products necessary for happy successful lives. We, the staff of The Panther of 1948 have tried to catch the spirit of such a store in our yearbook. We place ourselves as customers because we are rather like people looking for merchandise, not quite sure of what we want. We depict our teachers as the sales personnel, whose job it is to interest us in their products and help us make wise selections. Our purchases, of neces- sity must be of the highest quality for they must endure for life. The policy of our organization is similar to that of other stores with a few exceptions: damaged or imperfect merchandise is never offered for sale here, and the customer isn't always right. It is a distinct privilege to be the manager of a concern interested in selling knowledge. lt is also very gratifying to have such a fine group of regular customers interested in buy- ing our products. The interest of the directors. the competence of the sales personnel, and the desire for knowledge on the part of ottr customers have enabled us to establish a successful business. Let us hope that our customers will not selfishly hoard our product but that they will share it with others and use it in helping to improve conditions for themselves and for all mankind. lt is only in this way that our business can fulfill its obligations to society and to the community which it serves. WAYNE H. WHITE. Superintendent. 'sz JOE F. MOORE Principal of High School The interests, understanding, and appreciations making a truly abundant life possible are the permanent rewards of those who patronize this institution. Remember chandise is all legal tender in that we will not sell you shoddies. Our mer- good. And above all, remember that the only this establishment is honest effort. Nothing can give grcaltr satisfaction than a good educa' tion, a disciplined mind, Leen understanding, and a deep ap- preciation of that which is good. EV.-XLENA CREWS. Principal of Elementary School I, I V -1 WAYNE H. WHITE Superintendent of Schools It is one ot tne duties ot a sales manager to continuously strive to improve the qtlality of the stock which is to be offered to the public, in order to meet competition and to be of a greater public service. This duty becomes a pleasure if the public is receptive to this improvement and if they pride themselves in our store and its stock. The cooperation and qualification of the sales force de- termines whether or not the store is to be a success. As the sales manager of this store. l take great pride in the bar- gains you may find in this catalogue and in the sales force we have to serve you. JOE F. MOORE.
