Frosh-Soph Yell 1977-'78 has been a great year for the five pep squads here at Sierra. These pepsters have built the school spirit and pride sky high making Sierra famous for their pep units. At Hibbards Four-day summer competition, each squad took a first, second, and third place trophy. Varsity Yell, J.V. Yell, and Frosh-Soph Yell working together captured the Sweepstakes trophy for the over- all top squads. Varsity Song besides the first, second, and third places also took a third place in the hardest working squad and were asked to perform at the December 4, LA Rams-Oakland game. Varsity Flags, new again at Sierra each took a first place for individual competition and for a new squad are doing extremely well. ln November at Arroyo Festival Competition Varsity Yell and J.V. Yell captured a first place, Frosh-Soph making finals. While Varsity Flags and Varsity Song were very close to the finals. The 1978 - January competition brought J.V. and Frosh-Soph another first place, a third for Varsity Yell and finals for Varsity Flags. Varsity Song Spirit was great for 1978.
