Dear Student Body: No epic motion picture was ever produced by incompe- tent directors and wooden actors. The dramatic presentation which follows is ample evi- dence that both the direction and the cast is of oscar winning quality. Were it possible to do so, I would like to hand each of you the statuette most coveted by the cinema fraternity. Parks, who was appointed to fill the position of Assistant Principal of Curriculum left vacant last summer when Mr. Peter DeVries moved to northern California. Although new to Sierra, Mr. Parks has a distinguished record of service to the district, having served in various capacities at California and Pioneer High Schools. Mr. Parks is further evidence of the district policy of obtaining only the best to serve on the ad- ministrative staff of Sierra High School. Mr. Ronald G. The policies ot the Whittier Union High School District are established by an elected Board of Trustees which hires specially trained, professional educators to act as the District Administrators and to translate policies into everyday reality. No problem is too big or too small to merit the counselors' consideration, and nearly every Spartan finds himself beating a path to their doors sometime during the four years he spends at Sierra. Mrs. Rachel Waolett Freshman Counselor 11 Mr Warren Hackett Senior Counselor ASSOCIATION Sierra Teachers' Association, a voluntary faculty or- ganization, performs many services throughout the year. Besides studying problems concerning curriculum and discipline, they sponsor an annual faculty talent show to raise funds for two senior scholarships. Because of the floods in Northern California this year, the faculty also raised a relief fund to aid teachers hurt by the disasters.
