One of the most cherished American rights is that of suffrage. Sierra students gain valuable experience in the election process by going to The polls and select- ing from among their classmates, lead- ers who will represent them for the fol- lowing year. The members of each class vote for their respective class officers, while the entire student body votes for Associated Student Body officers who compose the Student Cabinet. The T963-'64 Cabinet, headed by President John Benson, met first period each morning, five days a week. During this time they plannefd the numerous stu- dent activities that enriched student life this year, and solved the many financial problems envolved in providing them. In order for the members of the student body to obtain a greater insight into the problems and workings of a modern high school government, the Cabinet held a series of open cabinet meetings that were well attended by the elec- torate. for 1964 SANLDPA PLUMMER MICKEY SMITH PATRICIA NEWSOM Publicity Chairman Assembly Clcidifmflfl Public Relations Chairman QAVID STOUFFER ARLENE GRIFFITH JOHN CUNNINGHAM Boys Athletic Chairman Girls' League President Speaker of Student'Assernbly Y ,Y rv.
