CR AVVL1-ERS' BALL Look closely - are you sure it is o gir ll fl On October 31, 1958, the Spartan Gym opened its doors to witches, ghosts and goblins, Where they came from, and who they were was unknown, but they flocked together to attend the first annual Hal- loween dance, the Crawlers Ball, sponsored by the Art Club, under the direction of Mrs. Francis Heus- sestamm and Mr. William Laverty. Music was provided by The Notables, a seven place ensemble accompanied by a vocalist, Dance contests included a waltz, bop, fox trot, mambo, and the charleston. Other awards were given for the prettiest, the funniest, the most original, most color- ful, most gruesome, and most historical costumes. ln between these various activities hot dogs, punch, and cookies were served by members of the Cater- ettes and the P.T.A.

Decoroted in red ond white heorts, with o ceiling of bolloons, the cotetorium was the setting for this evening of fun ond merryment. Slow dreomy music provided plenty of opportunity for doncing with thot speciol portner. Bob Parker ond Jessie Sisk rock to the rhythm of on up-tempo number. Sportons iumped ond twirled os festive moods of dance showed in their expressions.
